Barcelona Spain Coming to Harrison July 30th

Futbol Club Barcelona from Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain will be in Harrison for a match against the New York Red Bulls at the Red Bulls Arena on Saturday, July 30, 2022, with a 7 p.m. start.   FC Barcelona (aka as Barca) is a Spanish professional soccer club.  FC Barcelona competes in the La LIga, a top-flight Spanish soccer league. 

This match will be the third match between the Red Bulls and Barcelona.  The last two matches were in a stadium, Met Life Stadium, that is simply too big for an intimate soccer game. 

The Red Bulls Arena with a maximum capacity of 25,000 spectators is a much more hospitable venue for a world-class soccer game.  You need to be able to hear the fans rooting for their team and maybe yelling some rude comments to throw off the opponent's team. 

Barcelona and the Red Bulls played against each other in 2006 and 2008. The Red Bulls will be looking forward to using their Home field advantage to avenge the prior game losses.  Barcelona however is a formidable team and like all Spaniards put up a good fight no matter the challenge.  In 2006, Barcelona won 4-1 against the Red Bulls.  In 2008, Barcelona won 6-2.  So you can see that the July 30^th Matchup is not going to be a tied 1-1 game.  May the best United States team win.  Just kidding.  Welcome Barcelona to New York.  Or more precisely Welcome to Harrison (NJ).

This should be a fun game to attend win or lose.  The fact that FC Barcelona is visiting the United States and playing at the Red Bulls Stadium is great news.  Except, I know for traffic.  But it’s a Saturday game and that will make the game-day traffic a little better.  Barcelona will also play an earlier game against Miami Florida Soccer Team’s  Inter at the DRV PNK Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale Florida on July 19th.   Just in case you wanted to catch both games.

Just because its a great quote we want to make sure that the VP of Marketing for FC Barcelona gets quoted. We don’t want to leave out of the article Marc de Grandpré, the General Manager of the New York Red Bulls who is also looking forward to Barcelona’s match at the Red Bulls Arena.  Marc’s stated, "We are extremely honored to host FC Barcelona at Red Bull Arena, one of the premier soccer venues in all of North America. Since 2010, we have proudly hosted many of the top men's and women's clubs throughout the world and on July 30, we look forward to writing a new chapter in this stadium's history when welcoming Barça for a match against our New York Red Bulls."
