Double Stabbing In Harrison Leaves 1 Dead 1 Under Arrest
Jan 17, 2023The Harrison Police Department received a call at approximately 1:45 am about an attack in the Harrison Gardens Housing Complex located between Harrison Avenue and Hamilton Street along Schuyler Avenue. Upon arrival, the Harrison Police officers found two women that were stabbed and a male who ran from the scene but was apprehended by the police and detained. One of the women has since passed. There is limited information on the second woman but it is assumed that she was taken to the hospital to tend to her wounds. The male who was apprehended was taken to St. Michael’s Medical Center for evaluation of his injuries.
The Harrison Gardens is a federal housing complex which is run by local officials. The housing complex is considered to be a safe place to live. It consists of several buildings with an open area in the center for recreation and gathering of residents. There are a mixture of residents including seniors who occupy 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Your Harrison did a story on the Harrison Gardens including its history going back to the 1930s.

The Harrison Gardens Building Complex has video cameras both inside common hallways and in the exterior of the building. The Harrison Police should be able to put together what occurred from interviews and video footage.
Additional information after initial publication of this article. Law enforcement officials have released the name of the deceased resident and the alleged assailant. The victim was 67 year old Harrison Garden's resident Rosa Massoni. The alleged assailant was identified as 32 year old, Victor Temoche. Victor Temoche is the son of Rosa Massoni.The second victim was not identified but is a family member of the deceased.
Victor Temoche was charged by the Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez with the following: 1st degree murder and attempted murder, 4th degree unlawful possession of a weapon; and 3rd degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Additional charges may be filed at a later date.
