Four Teenagers Charged Following Incident at Harrison Hotel

The event, which involved the alleged assault and unlawful confinement of a 13-year-old girl, took place on Sunday, December 29, 2024, drawing an intense response from local law enforcement.
The ordeal began when the Newark Police Department received a distressing call from the young girl, claiming she was being held at gunpoint and assaulted in a hotel room by two teenagers. Acting swiftly, Newark police collaborated with the Harrison Police Department to address the alarming allegations.
Two 15-year-old females have been charged as juveniles. Due to their minor status, their names have not been released. They face multiple charges, including kidnapping, simple assault, conspiracy to kidnap, attempted sexual assault, and weapons offenses.
Further complicating the case, Tavin McCullough and Kyle Green, both 18, were apprehended following a court-authorized search of the hotel room where the attempted assault occurred. They face charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of prohibited hollow-point bullets. It should be noted that they are NOT charged with any sexual assault charges.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has confirmed the charges and stated that the investigation is "active and ongoing." She emphasized the severity of the charges and her office's commitment to thoroughly investigating and prosecuting those involved.
