Harrison Mayor & Council Meeting Tues. Oct. 4, 2022
Sep 26, 2022The Harrison Redevelopment Agency (HRA) Meeting scheduled for Monday, September 26, 2022, was canceled. Last week the Wednesday, September 21, 2022 meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment was canceled as well.
The next scheduled meeting of HRA, is on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 1 p.m. via Zoom. HRA meetings are usually held on Mondays so a Wednesday meeting is unusual. The next scheduled meeting of the Mayor & Council is Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. also via Zoom.
The other scheduled meeting is the Harrison Planning Board Meeting scheduled for Wednesday,September 28, 2022, at 5:45 p.m. The Planning Board Meeting is an in person meeting with No Zoom option. On the Agenda is discussion of amendments to the Town's Marijuana Sale Ordinance. The Mayor & Council passed a resolution introducing an Amendment to the Marijuana Sale Ordinance which was explained as a modification to the Original Ordinance passed in February 2022. Your Harrison ran a story on Harrison's Marijuana Ordinance entitled Harrison: Coming Soon Legal Cannabis Sales.
Although the Town Clerk & Town Attorney Paul Zarbetski and Councilman & Director of Personnel at Harrison Board of Education James Doran stated it was an update meant to incorporate some new provisions of the New Jersey Marijuana Law, the Ordinance appears to expand the allowed uses in the Town of Harrison beyond retail sales.
All Town of Harrison meetings are via Zoom except for the Harrison Planning Board which is an in-person meeting. It is not clear why the Harrison Planning Board meeting does not have a Zoom option.
