Traffic and Safety Concerns
As Schools reopen, there will be an increase in foot and vehicular traffic around school zones. Here are some safety tips for drivers:
- Slow Down: Always adhere to speed limits, especially in School Zones.
- Be Alert: Watch out for children walking to school.
- No Distractions: Avoid using mobile phones or any other distractions while driving. It is the law and is subject to a high fine per violation. It is especially important not to be distracted when schools open.
- Follow Traffic Rules: Obey all traffic signs and signals. Do not park in no-parking zones.
- Be Patient: Expect some delays due to increased traffic and be patient to ensure everyone's safety.
The opening of schools is a time of joy and anticipation. While it is a day for new beginnings, it is also a day that demands extra caution on the roads to ensure the safety of our children. Let's make the start of this school year a safe and happy one for everyone in the Town of Harrison.
