So the last Town Meeting of October has been canceled.   The Wednesday Harrison Planning Board Meeting has been canceled.  Mayor James Fife previously canceled the Mayor & Council meeting of  October 18, 2022.  The next meeting of the Mayor & Council is Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom a week after the General Election is held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  You can vote from  6 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Mayor Fife is being challenged by long-time Councilman Anselmo Millan who is running on Column H.  As Councilman Millan states H. For A Better Harrison.

On November 15, 2022, there will also be a Harrison Planning Board Meeting on the same day as the Harrison Mayor & Council meeting. That is an unusual event. The Harrison Planning Board is the only Town of Harrison board that does not utilize Zoom.

Mayor Fife did attend the Tuesday, October 4, 2022, Mayor & Council meeting where a larger than usual group of residents spoke during the public session. Mayor Fife, as Chairman of the Harrison Redevelopment Agency, attended their meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.  That meeting was very short and no one spoke in the Public Session.

If you planned to ask Mayor Fife or any of the Harrison Redevelopment Agency Commissioners a question, on the EPA sludge dumping in the PSE&G which is part of the Harrison Redevelopment plan you wished your chance as the meeting was canceled   You will have to hold your question until Tuesday, November 15, 2022, or November 16, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Via Zoom at the Redevelopment Meeting.  There is also a Harrison Zoning Board meeting the following day on Wednesday, November 17, 2022, starting at 6:30 pm. Via Zoom.

Remember, The quality of democracy depends upon the degree of public participation. Democracy survives if you participate in it starting in your local community.
