Harrison Portugal Day 2022 Saturday/Sunday June 4th & 5th
May 31, 2022Update: The location of the Harrison Portugal Day Celebration is at the Centro Romeo Cascaes Portuguese American Club located at 14 North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd, Harrison.
The Centro Romeu Cascaes Portuguese American Community Center has announced that it will be holding its annual Portugal Day Celebrations on the weekend of June 4th. On Saturday, June 4, 2022, and Sunday, June 5, 2022, volunteers from the Centro Romeu Cascaes will be hosting festivities at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Patterson Street next to Washington School (the 500's Block of Harrison Avenue).
There will be Portuguese Barbecue Chicken, Barbecued Sardines (the super vitamin), and Portuguese Febras (pork steaks with peppers on a Portuguese Roll). There will be Sangria, Beer (On Tap and Bottles poured into cups), Soft Drinks, and Water.

There will also be a special Portugal Day Mass at Holy Cross Church in Harrison at 9 a.m. followed by a Flag Raising in front of the Harrison Town Hall at 10 a.m.
The Barbecue at Patterson and Harrison Avenue will be from Noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. DJ Jose Pires will be providing entertainment from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a folkloric group and traditional Rancho dancing which will also take place after the Flag Raising Ceremony on Sunday in front of the Town Hall.
The Centro Romeu Cascaes also has a Portuguese School for children to learn Portuguese. Those students will also be participating in cultural activities during Harrison Portugal Day 2022.
