Harrison's 701 North Rodgers Mall Has A Lot to Offer

Harrison, New Jersey, is known for its vibrant community, diverse culture, and bustling streets, and traffic on Red Bull Arena game days.   While most people are familiar with the Harrison Plaza Shopping Center on South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd there is one lesser-known strip shopping mall that is worth a visit. Located on North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd just before the overpass that crosses over to the town of Kearny, this strip mall is tucked away off of Frank E. Rodgers Blvd and doesn't have a stand-alone exterior sign like the Harrison Plaza Shopping Center mini-mall located on Sussex Street in South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. The North Rodgers Mini-Mall has parking and is located at 701 North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd in Harrison NJ.

Despite its lack of external fanfare, the North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd shopping mall has a lot to offer shoppers. The mall is home to several stores and businesses, including a variety store, Dollar Deal; a laundromat, the Laundry Place;  two restaurant Paellas Café and New Oriental Gourmet;  a nail salon, Harrison Nails; a purified Water Store, Pure + PH Water Store;  a Dentist, Dr. Nasir; and coming soon Wellness Market Pharmacy. Whether you're looking to grab a quick bite to eat, pick up some household essentials, or pamper yourself with getting your nails done, the North Rodgers strip mall at 701 North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. has you covered.  Look for the Dollar Deal sign and turn into the parking lot.

One of the highlights of this shopping mall is the anchor store on the corner, the Dollar Deal store. The Dollar Deal store will surprise you.  The exterior sign says it carries stationery, Toys, Gift items, Party items, Bathroom items, Kitchen items, Electronics, General Merchandise, Etc.  It definitely has the essentials you need. If you can’t find what you are looking for ask, they likely have it in stock.

At the very end of the North Rodgers Blvd strip mall, is its newest store, Pure + PH Water Store.  Look for the sign which is strategically angled to improve its visibility.  If you have not heard, the Town of Harrison’s water infrastructure has lead pipes, and having some Purified Water and/or some Alkaline Water (Purified and PH enhanced) on hand to drink and cook with is not a bad idea.  The Harrison Water is safe to drink according to water testing but we think health officials would agree that filtered water as a precaution is a great idea.  The cost to refill a Five Gallons Bottle of Water with Purified Water is $3.00 and the Alkaline Water is $7.00  If you need a 5 Gallon Bottle that will cost you $10.00 but that is a one time cost. You don’t need a water dispensing machine.  You can buy a battery operated pump that goes on the top of the water bottle and pumps the water out to your water cup or cooking pot. If you are wondering what’s for Dinner, you can stop in and park and either dine in or take out from Paellas Café and/or the New Oriental Gourmet.  Paellas Café is a cross between a Spanish restaurant and a Mexican Restaurant.  It has Burritos, Paellas, Birria, Tacos and other delicious dishes served up at affordable prices. If you are in the mood for Chinese food, stop into the New Oriental Gourmet, which despite its name haves been around for a very long time, will satisfy your craving. Of course, New Oriental Gourmet does delivery.  The sign on the door said they were looking for an additional delivery person. They also have some seating but it is limited. You can order online through their website as well.

Another popular spot in the mall is the nail salon, Harrison Nails, which offers a range of nail services and treatments. Whether you're looking for a Basic Manicure and Pedicure or a French, Gel, Acrylic, or Shellac Manicure and Pedicure, the skilled staff will work with you to achieve the look you want. If you are looking to get a Dental Checkup, you can stop in at the Dr. Nasir Dental Office and see Dr. Nasir and/or Dr. Amy Melok.  Nobody likes going to the Dentist except those people who have perfect teeth.  We wonder if there is a connection between liking dental visits and perfect teeth BUT it is important to try to keep your teeth healthy.  There is a correlation between healthy teeth and good heart health.  A tooth infection causes the heart to work harder trying to pump blood to attack the bad bacteria in the tooth.  So if you have a cavity, you should stop into your Dentist or try Dr. Nasir’s office to prevent further damage to your teeth and health. We don’t want to neglect the Harrison Plaza Shopping Center located on Sussex Street in South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd which is a much larger and more well-known mini-shopping mall in Harrison.  The shopping center is home to a variety of stores, including a supermarket, a pharmacy, a bank, and pizzeria and others restaurants. Across the street is the Seabra’s Supermarket as well. Whether you need to stock up on groceries, grab a quick meal on the go, or run some errands, this shopping center has almost everything you need.

Overall, while the North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd shopping mall may not have the same level of visibility as the Harrison Plaza Shopping Center, it is still a hidden gem worth checking out. With its variety of stores and businesses, affordable prices, and convenient location, the North Frank E. Rodgers mall is a great place to shop, eat, and pamper yourself.
