Harrison Mayor James Fife endorsed Hudson County Sheriff Frank X. Schillari, who has served as Hudson County's top law enforcement officer since 2010 and is seeking a historic sixth term in the upcoming June 2025 Democratic Primary.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Schillari has built a substantial record in public safety throughout his tenure. His leadership has been marked by advancements in community policing, efforts to enhance officer training, and initiatives aimed at increasing transparency within the Sheriff's office.

Sheriff Schillari also participated in the cultural and community life of Hudson County. He was Grand Marshall at the Harrison Fest Queens Gala and the Grand Parade, events celebrating the diversity and spirit of the community. His participation in these festivities came at the invitation of the Coordinator of Harrison Fest, former Harrison Councilman Anselmo Millan. This involvement, which took place in 2017, highlighted Sheriff Schillari's commitment to fostering a close relationship between law enforcement and the community, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual respect in his public safety efforts.

After Councilman Millan announced he would be a mayoral candidate in the 2018 Democratic Primary, Harrison Mayor Fife canceled the planned 2018 Harrison Fest, Grand Parade, Street Festival, and Queens Gala as retribution for running for Mayor.

As the election approaches, Schillari has also garnered political support from other mayors across Hudson County, receiving endorsements from several key mayors across Hudson County. Among his backers are as previously mentioned Harrison Mayor James Doran, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, East Newark Mayor Dina Grilo, Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt, and Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli. These endorsements from high-profile leaders underscore the broad confidence in Schillari's ability to maintain public safety and manage the complexities of law enforcement in one of New Jersey's most populous counties. As he campaigns for re-election, Schillari emphasizes his commitment to building on his office's progress, focusing on community engagement and innovative policing strategies.
