Mayor Fife Robocall Fails to Mention Organizers
0:27

Harrison Mayor James Fife used the Town of Harrison's Robocall Emergency System to announce the United Irish Association's West Hudson St. Patrick's Day Parade that is scheduled for this coming Sunday, March 13th, 2022. In case you want to watch the Parade,  it starts from the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Frank E. Rodgers Blvd in Harrison at 1 p.m. going North up Frank E. Rodgers en-route to the Kearny Town Hall.  The St. Patrick's Day mass is at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Church in Harrison. The organizer of the West Hudson St. Patrick's Day Mass & Parade is the United Irish Association which Mayor Fife failed to note on his Robocall.

YourHarrison has covered the United Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade and finds it surprising that Mayor Fife would fail to mention the organizers since they have been an integral part of the St. Patrick's Day Parade for decades except for the two-year hiatus due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Mayor James Fife stated the following on his Robocall:

"This is a message from Mayor James Fife and the Harrison Town Council. Mayor Fife and the Council  would like to announce  the activities for the St. Patrick’s Celebration this Sunday, March 13th [2022]   Mass will be held. at Holy Cross Church at 11 a.m., the Parade will Start at 1 p.m. on Third Street in Harrison. Thank You.:

The Parade has been organized by the United Irish Association of West Hudson and supported by its sponsors. The failure to mention the United Irish could give the impression that the Town of Harrison Mayor & Council organized the St. Patrick Day's events.  Which is not the case.  Mayor Fife is fully aware of who organized the day's event and that should have been included in the message. To fail to do so is disrespectful and discredits the efforts of those actively involved in continuing the tradition of celebrating St. Patrick's Day and Irish heritage in our community.
