Motorcycle Ride to Honor Sergaent Eddie Hernandez
Apr 16, 2022Harrison Police Sergeant Eddie Hernandez loved to ride his motorcycle on a sunny breezy day. Whether he went for a ride by himself, with a couple of friends, or with his motorcycle club, being on a motorcycle in the open air was calming and a time to reflect. Sergeant Hernandez passed on Thursday, February 10th after a battle with cancer at the age of 51. He was a 23-year veteran of the Harrison Police Department. He was described as a calming force no matter what police call he pulled up to.
The Kearny VFW in conjunction with the Indian Knights motorcycle club of Kearny held a motorcycle ride in honor of Sergeant Eddie Hernandez. The club went passed the Holy Cross Cemetary Mausoleum in North Arlington where Sergeant Hernandez was laid to rest. The "rev" ride was put together by Retired Harrison Police Department Lieutenant Dean McGee and members of the motorcycle club and members of the Kearny VFW.
In attendance at the Holy Cross Cemetery as the motorcyclists road through were Sergeant Hernandez's wife Jennifer and daughter Gracie.
