PSE&G Paving North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd
Oct 23, 2022Public Service Electric & Gas put traffic cones along North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd in Harrison NJ notifying residents of scheduled road repaving. A letter entitled “Paving Notification. PSE&G Gas System Upgrade Project” stated that PSE&G has completed the gas system upgrades in your neighborhood to ensure continued safe, reliable gas service. Now that the ground has settled, we will restore roads with permanent paving.
The milling and paving activities will occur during daytime hours between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The traffic cones No Parking signage stated a start time of 9 a.m. So, that should be the start time, and 5 p.m. so should be the stop time.
PSE&G has a webpage where you can determine what streets are being paved but Harrison was not listed as one of the towns where you could obtain information on paving. You can access that website by clicking here
PSE&G stated that the pavement has settled and indeed it has settled in some sections several inches creating a rut in the roadway where car and truck times fit into causing some cars to avoid the rut and ride across the double yellow line partially in the lane of oncoming traffic. Some potholes are at least 8 inches in height and were allowed to remain as potholes before this scheduled paving.
PSE&G has not released a town-wide schedule and with winter coming it is not clear when other streets which had gas line replacement work done in early Spring and through the Summer will get their street to pave. Priority should be made to those streets where the inadequate black top was placed and there is a rut in the road where car tires get stuck in.
