Red Bulls Host Columbus Crew Fan Appreciation Night Sat. Oct. 19, 2024

The New York Red Bulls are set to take on the Columbus Crew at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. This exciting match also marks the Red Bulls’ annual Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, offering fans a night filled with celebrations, giveaways, and gratitude for their unwavering support throughout the season.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the BULLevard will open at 2:30 p.m. ET for pre-game festivities. The Red Bulls players will make their way to the stadium via the Red Carpet around 4:15 p.m. ET, allowing fans to greet them. Horizon members will have exclusive access to a private viewing zone near the Red Carpet beginning at 3:45 p.m. ET.

In addition, all stadium gates will open 90 minutes before kickoff, and the first 15,000 fans entering the arena will receive a free T-shirt courtesy of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Ahead of the match, fans will be treated to a live performance by Asbury Fever at the CrossBar. Throughout the arena, all merchandise will be available at a 25% discount, making it the perfect time for fans to grab their favorite Red Bulls gear.

Columbus Crew

The Columbus Crew, the Red Bulls’ opponents for the evening, are one of Major League Soccer’s most established teams. Their home stadium, Lower.com Field, is located in Columbus, Ohio, and holds a capacity of 20,371 fans. Known for their strong fan base and competitive play, the Crew will be a formidable opponent as both teams make their final push for the playoffs.

Fan Appreciation

As part of the Fan Appreciation Night, Mercedes Pescevich Ryan, a longtime Red Bulls supporter, will perform the National Anthem, while Gabriel Ursic, another dedicated Red Member, will participate in the ceremonial coin flip.

The Veteran of the Match, presented by Horizon, will be Jeremy Nagle, a member of the Viking Army supporters' group and a proud military veteran. In addition to the match festivities,

Horizon is partnering with Feeding Our Heroes, a Newark-based organization that addresses food insecurity among veterans and first responders. Throughout the game, fans will have the opportunity to round up their purchases to donate to this important cause.

Harrison Police Traffic Bulletin

Harrison Police Department issued a Traffic Bulletin to inform residents and visitors about expected traffic congestion throughout Harrison. Although the match is set to begin at 6 p.m., fans will start arriving as early as 1 p.m. to participate in the Fan Appreciation activities, adding to the congestion. The bulletin will advise those attending the game, as well as local residents, to plan their travel accordingly to avoid heavy traffic around Red Bull Arena and surrounding areas.

The evening will also feature special giveaways and celebrations throughout the match, with the team honoring its loyal fanbase. After the final whistle, Red Bulls players will personally show their gratitude by signing and tossing mini soccer balls into the crowd. Selected fans will also be gifted the jerseys off the players’ backs, a tradition in which the team gives away their match-worn jerseys to thank the supporters who have cheered them on all season.

As the regular season comes to a close, the Red Bulls will be looking for a positive result against Columbus Crew to secure their spot in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. With the MLS Decision Day determining final placements for the playoffs, Red Bull Arena will host additional playoff games, extending what promises to be an exciting postseason run for the New York Red Bulls.
