West Hudson Arts & Theatre Co. Celebrates Season Finale with a Splash
Jun 19, 2023On Thursday, June 15, 2023, the West Hudson Arts & Theatre Company (WHATCo) held its grand "End of the Season & Reveal Party", an event that not only recognized and thanked all of the hardworking volunteers that have contributed tirelessly to the success of the company but also unveiled the exciting upcoming 2023-2024 Theatre Season.
WHATCo is an organization that thrives on its core mission to enrich and invigorate the West Hudson community through the power of the performing arts. "We aim to be a cultural resource that embraces, educates, and entertains people of all ages, cultures, and abilities," the Theater Company explains in their mission statement. "Through a range of quality theatrical productions, we stimulate, celebrate, and enhance the understanding of theater, inspiring growth and creativity in our members. Our goal is to be a valuable resource for both the residents and businesses of the greater West Hudson area, contributing to the cultural depth, education, and vitality of our community."
The End of the Season & Reveal Party offered a platform to honor the invaluable volunteers who support WHATCo in fulfilling its mission. A heartfelt thank you was extended to all those involved in the company, acknowledging their commitment and dedication.
Highlight of the Evening
The highlight of the evening, however, was the reveal of the 2023-2024 Theater Season. Opening the new season will be "Puffs" set to premiere on October 20, 2023. The holiday season will be marked by the popular "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" starting from December 1, 2023. Rounding out the winter schedule, audiences can anticipate a thrilling production of Agatha Christie’s mystery classic, “And Then There Were None” on February 16, 2024.
In a further exciting announcement, WHATCo unveiled a special collaboration with the Teaneck New Theater, presenting Shakespeare in the Park productions of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" and "Othello". Scheduled to take place at the Atlantic Street Park located at 102 State Street, Hackensack NJ, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" will be performed on Tuesday, July 12, 19, and 26, 2023, starting at 7:30 p.m.
The performances will then move to the WHATCo Theater in Harrison NJ for additional shows on Friday and Saturday, September 29 & 30, 2023, at 8 p.m. Shakespeare’s "Othello" will be performed on August 8 & 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Street Park, followed by performances at the WHATCo’s Theater in Harrison NJ on Friday and Saturday, September 22 & 23, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.
