WhatCo Auditions for Shakespeare Productions Wed. May 8, 2024

The West Hudson Arts & Theater Company (WhatCo.), in collaboration with Teaneck New Theater and the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC), is excited to announce open auditions for their upcoming Shakespeare productions this summer. Aspiring actors and seasoned performers alike are invited to try out for roles in the captivating play Twelfth Night, with a series of performances slated to grace outdoor stages across Hackensack and West Hudson.

Audition Details:

• Date: Wednesday, May 8, 2024
• Time: 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM
• Location: WhatCo Theatre, 15 Frank E. Rodgers Blvd S, Harrison, NJ (formerly the Holy Cross School)
• Parking: Free parking is available at the Jersey Street lot.

Performance Schedule:

• Twelfth Night will be performed on Wednesdays, July 10, 17, and 24 at 7:30 PM at HACPAC.
• Romeo and Juliet, presented by Teaneck New Theater, will follow with shows on August 7 and 14 at the same venue.

About Twelfth Night:

Twelfth Night, directed by Matt Masiello, explores themes of love, identity, and mistaken identities in a comedic and enthralling setting. Key characters include Viola, who disguises herself as a man and navigates the complexities of love, and Orsino, a nobleman caught in his romantic woes. The play promises to deliver a mix of humor, drama, and timeless Shakespearean wit.

Participants are expected to read from the provided sides, with characters ranging from the love-struck Orsino to the cunning Maria.
