WHATCo’s Murder Mystery Dinner: ‘Class of 2005’ on 3/28 & 3/29/2025
Mar 14, 2025
The What Co. (West Hudson Arts & Theater Company) is bringing back its popular annual murder mystery dinner theater, with this year’s production, Class of 2005: A Killer Reunion. Written by award-winning local playwright Allyssa Hynes, the show will be performed on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, at the American Legion Post 99 (314 Belgrove Drive) in Kearny.
Join former high school classmates as they reconnect at their 20-year reunion. What begins as friendly reminiscing soon turns dark when a body is discovered. Rivalries from their school days resurface as they work together to solve the mystery. The interactive show blends scripted scenes with improv, allowing actors to engage with guests throughout the evening.
As the mystery unfolds, guests will enjoy a three-course buffet dinner, catered by the Spanish Pavilion Restaurant. Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner, soda, coffee, and dessert. A cash bar will also be available. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 201-540-WHAT (9428). Reserved tables for up to eight people are available, and group reservations are encouraged. Please note, tickets will not be sold at the door.
The cast includes Ed Shea, Alexis Saarela, Robert Strauch, John Jesse Jeffords, Karen Koronkiewicz, Dylan Myers, Iman Abdul, Jessica Jones, Lauren Proda, Amanda Castro-Conroy, Maggie Madere, Amanda Regan, Emily Amadeo, and Jonathan Rueda. The production is directed by Allyssa Hynes, with stage manager Ashley Nichols, producers Brandi-Leigh Miller and Nilanthi Sangarabalan, costume design by Roman Koster, and sound design by Jim Miller.
What Co’s 2024 production, Deadly Dessert Championship, won the New Jersey Association of Community Theatres (NJACT) Perry Award for Best Production of an Original Play.
