As the 2024 Presidential Election is upon us, it's crucial to understand where and how to vote to ensure your voice is heard. If you missed Early Voting or Vote By Mail, you can still vote using what a decade ago was the only way to Vote, In Person on Election Day. In New Jersey, polling locations will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. In Harrison, there are four voting locations based on Wards and Districts, and it's important to go to your correct polling place to cast your vote.

Locating Your Polling Location

For Harrison residents, your polling location is determined by your Ward and District. You can find your Ward and District information on the sample ballot mailed to you before Election Day. Alternatively, use the LocatePoll.com website, which links directly to the State of New Jersey Election website. Simply enter your address to find your designated polling station. Poll workers at the voting location can also help direct you to the right area based on your Ward and District. But don’t let a poll worker turn you away from voting just because you might be in the wrong voting location. In the worst-case scenario, ask for the Judge of the Polling Location and request a Provisional Ballot which you can complete and will be counted after someone from the Hudson County Clerk and the Superintendent of Elections confirms your right to vote.

Using New Voting Machines

Hudson County’s new voting machines make the process simpler and more secure. After signing in with a poll worker, you’ll receive a long sheet of paper to insert into the touchscreen machine. This step activates the machine for voting. You’ll make your selections on the touchscreen, and once finished select Print Sheet,. A printout of your choices will appear to the right of the touchscreen. This paper printout serves as a voter-verifiable paper trail for accuracy and security. Before casting your final vote, confirm that the printout matches your selections. Note: that your vote is not cast until you verify your selections on the printout and then accept the same and cast your vote on the Touchscreen.

Important Note: Once the machine prints your selections, it is crucial to review the printout carefully to ensure accuracy then casting your vote.
