Fun fact: Did you know that the Declaration of Independence was not actually signed on July 4th? Indeed, the signatures were added on August 2nd. However, July 4th is celebrated as America's birthday because it marks the official adoption of the document by the Continental Congress. Thus, even though the signatures were affixed later, July 4th remains the day when America declared its independence from Great Britain.
