The Agenda for the meeting includes a series of resolutions across various committees.

Legal Committee:

  • A resolution will be presented to authorize the award of a contract to LEW Environmental Services, LLC for lead paint inspections. This is in response to the need for rental units throughout the town to be inspected for lead paint hazards, as required by the New Jersey State Statute and Regulation. LEW Environmental Services will not be charging the Town but the property owner.  There was no information on how much LEW will be charging for its inspections.

License Committee:

    • Litos Corporation trading as Litos Liquor

Rodgers Blvd staying open late and patrons double parking and playing music loud and otherwise disturbing the neighborhood.  Nicks Spirits trading as Harrison Supermarket & Discount Liquors is on the Agenda for renewal of their Liquor License.  Nicks Spirits LLC was not on the Liquor License renewal last month.

  • Approval of a Box Lunch truck license for Cassy T. Marchena, trading as Little Lima.

Last Mayor & Council Meeting Was Very Quick

The business portion of the previous Mayor & Council meeting on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, was very quick, taking a 15-minute caucus and a 6-minute formal session to speed read and pass a substantial number of resolutions and ordinances. During the public session, several residents raised questions about quality of life issues, highlighting the community's engagement in local governance.  Residents attending Mayor & Council meetings have been able to get quality-of-life issues addressed that would not have been addressed without their participation as citizens of Harrison.

Residents are encouraged to join the meeting via Zoom to stay informed and participate in the decision-making process.
