Harrison NJ: Upcoming Town Meetings for the Week of June 26, 2023

This article provides a  guide to the upcoming town meetings in the town of Harrison, New Jersey, for the week commencing June 26, 2023. It covers  details about the Harrison Redevelopment Agency (HRA), a special Mayor & Council meeting, and a Harrison Planning Board meeting.

Harrison Redevelopment Agency: Meeting Canceled

The Harrison Redevelopment Agency has announced the cancellation of its meeting initially scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023. The next scheduled meeting on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Special High Noon Mayor and Council Meeting

On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, the town will hold two meetings. The first meeting is a Special Mayor and Council Meeting, slated to occur at high noon (12:00 p.m.) in the "Mayor's Meeting Room" situated on the 3rd Floor, just outside the Mayor's office. This room is typically reserved for the Caucus part of Town Meetings and for meetings with dignitaries and town staff.

As of Monday, June 26, 2023, no formal Agenda for the meeting has been published. However, the meeting notice specifies that "A Resolution to Approve ABC License Renewals for 2023-2023 License Term" is a point of discussion. The notice further states "and any and all Business," implying a broad range of topics could be discussed. It also hints at the possibility of additional items appearing on the Agenda.

Harrison Planning Board Meeting

The second meeting of the day is a regularly scheduled Harrison Planning Board meeting. The Board will convene on Zoom at 5:45 p.m. for a Caucus, followed by the formal meeting at 6 p.m.

The Agenda for this meeting has already been published and includes an important item for approval: "Case #2301. Memorialize Resolution for Application of CAL Real Estate Group, LLC for Preliminary and Final Major Subdivision, Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan and Bulk Variances of property located at 506 Davis Avenue, Block 37, Lots 26.01. 31 and 33 in the Town of Harrison, NJ."

The Agenda also includes the approval of the Minutes of the Monday, May 15, 2023, meeting of the Harrison Planning Board. However, the Minutes are not published or contained along with the Agenda. Notably, the absence of publication of Town Meeting Minutes has become the norm on the Town of Harrison website.
