MISSING JUVENILE HAS BEEN LOCATED. Thank you to all who assisted.

The Harrison Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 15-year-old Amanda Caldeira, who was reported missing by her parents on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Amanda was last seen at her family’s apartment around 1:00 p.m. on the day of her disappearance.

Amanda, who is about 5 feet tall and weighs between 90 and 110 pounds, has long black hair and brown eyes. On the day she went missing, town surveillance cameras captured her wearing a black shirt, dark-colored pants, and white shoes, and carrying a large cross-body bag. The footage shows Amanda boarding a PATH train in Harrison, with the last sighting placing her at Journal Square in Jersey City at approximately 1:37 p.m.

The Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) confirmed the sighting of Amanda at Journal Square and law enforcement personnel are continuing their review of video to trace her movements in Jersey City and neighboring municipalities.

Amanda is a student at a county high school, and authorities believe she may be staying with friends in the Hudson County area. However, the situation is particularly concerning as Amanda left behind her cell phone and has had no contact with her family since she was last seen. Her mother has also indicated that Amanda may have cut her hair, based on previous conversations they had before her disappearance.

The Harrison Police Department is urging anyone with information on Amanda’s whereabouts to come forward. The department’s Detective Bureau can be reached at 973-483-5302. Any leads or tips, no matter how small, could be crucial in reuniting Amanda with her family.

Additional Photographs of Amanda were provided from Facebook posts.

As the search intensifies, the Harrison community and surrounding areas are being asked to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that could assist in locating Amanda.

Updates will be provided on the Harrison Police Department’s social media channels including Facebook and Instagram.  Your Harrison will also update its website when Amanda is located.
